Notes

According to the New York Times of 12 January 1937, "Clarence S. Stein, New York architect, has bought from Chester McCord the old Lambert farm on Journey's End Road, Ossining, N. Y., consisting of a Colonial farmhouse and thirty-five acres of land. The 150-year-old dwelling, once the home of Ransome Lambert, will be restored and remodeled by the purchaser." Clarence Stein was a very long-time friend of Benton MacKaye, and fellow member of the planning profession.
